About Me

When visiting my grandparents as a kid I would spend hours in my grandfathers workshop trying to make things out of the scraps he had laying around above his garage in West Virginia. As a teenager my father and I built a workshop in his backyard which we expanded twice as we collected more tools and wood so I could put together backgamon tables for my friends and projects for my parents house. I read woodworking magzines talked to other more experienced craftsmen but never had any formal training that could take a hobby any further.

In 2002 my family was relocated to London through my wifes employer. The three years we spent there allowed me to fulfill a lifelong passion to build furniture. I found the training I wanted but never had time to get in London where they have a bit of history and experience in the craft. I completed my formal two year training and graduated with recognition from the London Metropolitan University Furniture College in 2005. Upon returning to Charlotte NC I opened Bradham Furniture Studio and now design and make high quality affordable furniture using the finest domestic and imported hardwoods and veneers. These one-of-a-kind pieces are designed to fit the location and lifestyle of a wide variety of clients and styles.

I recently finished a gun cabinet from wood salvaged from my grandfathers barn for a friend whose grandfather had left him a rifle as a momento. It is these personal connections and relationships between form, function and art that brings me the joy I get from this craft. I am fortunate that I can follow my passion and am grateful to many who have inspired and helped me along the way, especially my wife Paula.
